Today we’re going to check out some details about the Delta-8, Delta-9, and Delta-10 THC. THC has different types and it will be interesting for everyone to know more about each type.
What is Delta-8 THC?
Delta-8 is a form of THC that really is a little bit different from a Delta-9. Many people in today’s world know about THC and how it is the cannabis compound that makes you high. It is the main psychoactive ingredient within the marijuana plant and produces the most psychoactive effects on the body. Delta-8 is a form or an isomer of the normal Delta-9.
Labs go about this by taking CBD and converting it over to Delta-8 on THC. The reason they’re doing that is because the Delta-8 of course has some of the same psychoactive effects that Delta-9 has. Even though they can be quite attenuated from Delta.
A lot of people would say it has a mellow effect so they are using hemp derived materials and are cooking it up. They process it to the point where it’s now converting into a Delta-8 molecule that they can formulate into vapors or Gummies.
When you look at it, it’s actually distillate and it looks a lot like CBD oil. The oil itself is a little bit more viscous so it’s very thick. You need to really heat it up in order to pour it.
If you want to make products associated with a Delta-8, there are a couple different things you need to be thinking about. The first thing is you gotta make sure that there’s no Delta-9 in your product because the law says that you need to have less than 0.3% Delta-9. If you have a Delta-8 and you have too much Delta-9 in it, you’re not going to be able to use that product for your vapor. You need to dilute it down so that it doesn’t have too much Delta-9 in it.
Delta-9 THC Explained:
As an activator of the CB1 receptor, Delta-9 is the main intoxicating component of cannabis. THC intoxication has been shown to increase blood flow to the prefrontal cortex, the region of the brain responsible for decision making, attention, motor skills, and other functions. When THC binds to CB1 receptors in the brain’s rewards system, it can trigger feelings of euphoria. Much of THC’s ability to relieve pain is due to its interaction with CB1 receptors in the midbrain.
Differences between the Delta-8 and Delta-9
The Delta-8 is an almost identical compound but it has a very different effect on the body and mind. Users report a more relaxed, mild and enjoyable hemp or cannabis experience while the effects of Delta-8 can certainly be felt with just a small dose. The formulation is less hazardous with traditional Delta-9. Delta-8 is naturally present in cannabis, but in much smaller amounts than Delta-9.
Delta-8 THC effects
How Delta-8 affects the nervous system largely depends on the potency and the amount of the compound consumed. Similar to CBD, another cannabinoid found in the hemp or cannabis plant, individual experience varies. Generally speaking, consuming Delta-8 has a full body and mind relaxing effect. Delta-8 is a slightly sedative substance like Delta-9but less so making the experience much milder. Users of Delta-8 THC report much of the same benefits they get from consuming Delta-9 and CBD including reduced pain, increased appetite, improved mood and more.
What is Delta-10 THC ?
Researchers just discovered Delta-10 in the past couple of years. They are still experimenting with it but they discovered a lot of things about it. Delta-10 is similar to Delta-8 THC, but it’s a lighter version. It still has a premium feeling, and a premium taste, but it doesn’t get you that high. Delta 10-THC seems to have a weaker affinity for binding to the CB1 receptors, resulting in lighter effects.
Can Delta-10 THC get you high?
The answer to this question is YES. Yes, Delta-10 can get you high but in a different way that Delta-8 or Delta-9 THC. Users reported that the difference between Delta-8 THC and Delta-10 THC is that the first one is going to be effective as a sleep aid, while the second one will act as a productivity pill. What do we mean as a productivity pill? Delta-10 THC will improve your energy, it provides greater creativity, productivity and perfect for day time use.
Is Delta-10 THC illegal?
As of this writing: “Delta-10 derived from cannabis is illegal due to the fact that marijuana is a schedule 1 controlled substance.” Which unfortunately means that yes, in most cases it’s illegal, but, Delta-10 derived from hemp extract exists in a legal gray zone. It is also legal in some states.
The DEA reported the following: “All synthetically derived tetrahydrocannabinols remain schedule I controlled substances.” The only problem with that statement is the DEA has never defined what exactly “synthetically derived” means.
In conclusion
At the end of the day, it only depends on you what THC fits the best for you. For relaxation, you should choose Delta-8.
If your only intention is to get high then you should go with Delta-9. For the people who would love to try a new experience, or just get productive for the rest of the day, their way to go is the Delta-10.
